1. Service description
Torvite is a web tool that lets contractors and self-employed workers create, send and track quotes and invoices for their clients. The service is provided in French and English, hosted in Canada.
We offer a free plan with a limited number of quotes per month and a paid plan (Pro) with no limit. Exact plan features are described on the Pricing page and may evolve.
2. Account and registration
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to contract under Québec law. You are responsible for the information you provide (name, email, business data) and agree to keep it accurate.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity carried out under your account. Notify us immediately at vincent@torvite.ca if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Torvite for illegal or fraudulent activity, or to transmit threatening, defamatory, hateful or rights-infringing content. You may not attempt to bypass technical limits, access accounts that are not yours, or use automated bots to scrape the service.
We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if your use violates these terms or harms the service or other users.
4. Paid plans, billing and taxes
The Pro plan is billed monthly in advance. Prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include applicable taxes (GST, QST), which are added to billing when required by law.
Founding Member rate: the first 50 Pro users get a discounted rate guaranteed for life as long as their subscription remains active without interruption. If the subscription is cancelled then reactivated, the standard rate applies.
Payments are processed by a third-party provider (Stripe). We do not store your credit card number on our servers.
5. Cancellation and refund
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. No pro-rated refund is offered for the unused portion of the current month.
You may delete your account at any time from your Settings. Deletion is immediate and final: your quotes, clients, items and personal data are erased from our systems with no possibility of recovery. Make sure to download what you need before deleting.
6. Ownership and use of your data
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into Torvite (quotes, clients, items, business profiles). You grant us only the limited license needed to host, display and process it in order to provide the service.
We never sell your data to third parties. Details on the data we collect, why, and your rights are described in our Privacy Policy.
7. AI assistant
Torvite integrates an AI assistant to help draft quotes. Conversations with the assistant are sent to a third-party provider (Anthropic) for processing. Sent messages are not used to train the models.
The AI assistant can make mistakes: prices, calculations, hallucinated items. You are responsible for verifying generated quotes before sending them to your clients. Torvite is not liable for business errors resulting from blind use of the assistant.
8. Torvite intellectual property
The Torvite software, its code, design, name and trademarks remain our exclusive property. You receive a right to use the service for the duration of your account, but no ownership over the software itself.
9. Service availability
Torvite is software under active development. We make reasonable efforts to keep the service available and to preserve your data, but no software is free of occasional bugs or outages. We therefore cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or the complete absence of errors.
When an incident occurs, we work to resolve it quickly. If your documents are critical to your business, we recommend keeping a copy (downloaded PDF) on your side.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential or commercial losses (loss of profit, loss of clients, loss of reputation) resulting from the use or inability to use the service.
11. Changes to the terms
We may modify these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at the address on file at least 30 days before the changes take effect. If you continue using the service after the effective date, you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply. Any dispute will be brought before the courts of the judicial district of Québec.
